firefox >104 or so introduced some new changes related to restoring previous sessions after a browser crash; i'm now able to resume >1000 tab sessions without
- them taking forever
- loading everything into ram, causing a negative feedback loop
i'm just gonna dump some links here to free up browser space
How to become more selective with online communities?

Whenever I go online I just aimlessly browse for hours on end for short-term dumb entertainment, nothing truly interesting and nothing that makes me feel proud of how I spend my time.
This question is very open ended since I don't even know what things I relate to anymore, however, I do not enjoy participating in anime/weeb culture.

I more or less feel you, op.
It has been almost a decade since I had a place on the Internet that I called home. Since then I drift aimlessly around, never staying long. Unfortunately I don't have any advice, I need some myself.
The only thing I can say is that the first reply has a point, don't restrict yourself to online, try offline too. Maybe you can find some sort of home there or at least something fun or relaxing.
thoughts: it's probably better to be an interesting person yourself rather than rely on the off chance that the "interestingness" of some other interesting people will rub off on you
I do not enjoy participating in anime/weeb culture.
me too, but personally, i shifted my mindset from
i have better things to do, so i shan't waste any time interacting with (the weebs, the soundcloud artists, the furries, etc) to
it's the new norm now, people in the medieval ages used to have other seemingly pointless hobbies like being a flaneur; 二次元 culture is almost definitely more constructive and deep than that
you don't have to go out of your way to become the authoritative source on all things weeb, simply look things up whenever they are mentioned and eventually you'll be able to regurgitate things you hear about in one little circle in another
knowledge begets knowledge and so does hanging out in crowds which have a huge overlap (something for another long essay, i'm sure you've noticed how, say, the mechanical keyboard group is linked to the rubik's cube group which is in turn is linked to the "assorted cerebral pursuits" demographic...)
people will usually gladly fill you in if you are curious about something
WARRIOR PRIDE - a family of NSA mobile rootkits

devilishly difficult maze
idea: downsample this to 256x256, apply thresholding and solve it via backtracking or even BFS.... if your agent is 1x1 in size you want to avoid "going backwards along the corridor you came from"
this is in the news lately

feeling OK because i had the intuition for yesterday's DP leetcode question right off the bat and applied what i call dimensionality reduction technique but tried for 2 hours before i figured out that my problem was not due to long long but due to not being rigorous enough with the space complexity

XMPP is some gay ass shit, MUCs suck the mobile presence experience sucks, everything about it fucking sucks it's easier to ssh into mcabber than use FOSS mobile clients

TODO: long form post of the salient points of this image
empathizing with mao #
To read and interpret (low priority, for very very obvious reasons): mao's 「商鞅徙木立信論」, as well as「講堂錄」
the「講堂錄」is a collection of notes made by mao during his studies at 湖南第四師範学校 (deduced to be) during oct - dec 1913.
an arbitrary published version (ISBN: 9787200119466) by the 北京出版社 is 166 pages in length.
an exposition of his worldview can be found in the journal of the 筑波法政学会
At least a few of the essays within made it into the marxists internet archive
he is by no means an uneducated bozo, i mean right in the 1st entry he makes a reference to 孫子「軍争篇」[1], and although there is not much original or critical thought going on, he does lament on how sloth leads to the the 渊薮 of 万恶s.
though it is quite quaint how his thought processes, highly steeped in references to the classics, lead to, yknow, the 破ing the 四旧s campaign later on
you might even compare this train of thought to the use of japanese nationalistic slogans like 尊皇攘夷 and 八紘一宇
on oct. 28 he makes a brief digression into math, but the rest has to do with 「修ion of the 身」, whatever that may specifically refer to, probably a formal moral education class, and「the 国's 文」, in which he cites excerpts of various newspapers and books
there appears to be a clear distinction between 大楷 script and 小楷 script in the sinosphere
some of his only extant works in 楷書 like the one carved into a rock somewhere hint at his having 臨ed the 魏碑 while he was young, in comparison to the script evocative of the 蘭亭序 which he uses in the essays and notes being discussed here
mao wrote various 宋詞 too, and popularized certain 詞牌
this is yet more material for another long form essay
i don't know what to think of 166 pages of introspection in the span of 3 months but i'm not surprised either as left unbridled i could go down rabbit holes for all eternity, like right now
i really should not have written this entry. what a colossal waste of time it has been.
